NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Council of the Town of Gate City, Virginia, will hold a public hearing on Monday, June 9, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., or immediately thereafter, in the Council Chambers at Gate City Town Hall, 156 E. Jackson Street, Gate City, Virginia, to receive public comment on proposed amendments to the Gate City Zoning Ordinance.
The proposed amendments would amend the setback regulations in Section 30-194 (Commercial District C-1) and Section 30-226 (Central Business District C-2) to require that buildings and structures be located no less than one (1) foot from the property line adjoining any street right-of-way, with no portion of a structure encroaching into a public sidewalk or street right-of-way.
Copies of the proposed amendments are available for review at the Town Hall during normal business hours. Written comments may be submitted to officemanager@mygatecity.com or delivered to 156 E. Jackson Street, Gate City, Virginia 24251.
