HELP WANTED: PW – II: CDL-A Trash Truck Driver – Public Works Team

The Town of Gate City, Virginia, Department of Public Works is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time, permanent CDL-A Trash Truck Driver position within our Public Works team.

Position Summary: The primary responsibility of this role is to safely and efficiently operate a trash truck for garbage collection services throughout the town. We seek a professional, reliable team member with a commitment to safety and customer service, prepared to work in various weather conditions. Training will be provided for the right candidate who meets the basic qualifications and demonstrates a willingness to learn.

Qualifications:
• Prefer a high school diploma or GED.
• Possession of a valid CDL-A license and a valid Virginia driver’s license.
• Ability to operate trucks of a class greater than 35,360 GVWR.
• Knowledge of state and local regulations governing the operation of equipment.
• Unblemished driving record required.
